The Art Museum of SFAI holds a heavenly appeal for art lovers. At the Art Museum at Night, the famous the Night Revels of Han Xizai painting appeared on the LED display. The character of Han Xizai, known for his skill in writing and calligraphy in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period (907-979), existed on the stage, inviting the audience to drink tea. Meanwhile, the costume show, Yuan Plan, born out of the metaverse, brought the audience on a journey through different times and spaces in the future, astonishing the crowd.

Although the Art Museum at Night was still at the Art Museum of SFAI, the on-site equipment was visibly upgraded compared to previous years. In addition to the large LED display on the main stage, five new LED displays were added in the atrium. The first major chapter of the night event was a Chinese-style fashionable musical, the Night Revels of Han Xizai, which presented a high-tech vision of the scene.

The masterpiece, the Night Revels of Han Xizai, by Gu Hongzhong, has a fascinating storyline, performed vividly at the event. At the beginning of the musical, Han Xizai jumped onto the stage while catching butterflies. His whimsical nature leaping to life surprised the audience.
“What do state affairs have to do with me?” the performers sang. There was no such narration on the painting a thousand years ago, but when it appeared on the Arts Museum at Night stage, many audience members were enthusiastic. “It seems that painting is really alive,” one said.

More fun was yet to come. Han Xizai walked off the stage and invited several audience members to have tea. The applause and laughter during the musical never stopped.
The light show and costume show full of futuristic technology
However, the musical, the Night Revels of Han Xizai, is one aspect of the creativity of SFAI’s teachers and students. The following activities of the musical, the light show, and the costume show, Yuan Plan, reflected the creations of this year’s graduates of the university and shared the graduates’ thoughts to a delighted audience.

Relying on the Department of Apparel and Fashion Design, Yuan Plan showed the latest teaching achievements of SFAI. Since the Chinese pronunciation of “Yuan Plan” is similar to the “metaverse,” the show is closely related to the metaverse. Some high-tech elements, such as VR, digital space, parallel world, and other elements related to sci-fi and the future, have been used by this year’s graduates in clothing design and creation.

Exaggerated collars, cloud-like water sleeves, and design-driven jumpsuits dressed by the models appeared in front of the audience—the changing lights of purple, blue, and white cut through the night sky. The exterior wall of the Art Museum of SFAI changed its colors as the color of the light changed. Gorgeous scenes attracted many spectators to stop and enjoy the night.
